In early October 2023, Herat Province in western Afghanistan experienced a series of devastating earthquakes. The first quake, with a magnitude of 6.3, struck on October 7, followed by another powerful 6.3 tremor shortly after. These earthquakes caused widespread devastation, particularly in rural areas surrounding Herat City, leading to the tragic loss of thousands of lives and leaving thousands more injured. Homes and vital infrastructure were destroyed, displacing countless families and creating an urgent need for humanitarian assistance.

After these tragic events unfolded, the Mezan Charity Foundation, in collaboration with our dedicated partners at Abdullah Aid, delivered emergency assistance to affected families in Zinda Jan district. As part of our Emergency Assistance for Disaster Survivors Project, we distributed life-saving supplies. This joint effort was a testament to the power of partnerships in responding effectively to such crises.

The people of Zinda Jan displayed remarkable resilience in the face of unimaginable hardship. Despite the devastation caused by the earthquakes, community members came together to support one another and rebuild their lives. However, the scale of destruction remains immense.

Your support is vital in helping the people of Herat rebuild their lives. Every contribution makes a significant impact, ensuring that affected families receive the resources they need to recover and thrive.
