During the blessed month of Ramadan 2026, Mezan Charity Foundation (MCF) successfully implemented a food assistance project in Kabul, Afghanistan, with the generous support of the Al-Imdaad Foundation. The project aimed to provide essential food supplies to the most vulnerable families, helping them meet their basic nutritional needs during a time of increased financial pressure.
A total of 70 carefully prepared food parcels were distributed, benefiting approximately 350 individuals from highly disadvantaged backgrounds, including widow-led households, orphan-supported families, persons with disabilities, elderly individuals, and daily wage laborers. Each package contained essential food items such as flour, rice, cooking oil, sugar, beans, dates, and other necessities sufficient for Ramadan.
The project was implemented through a structured and transparent process, including beneficiary identification through field assessments, careful procurement, quality-controlled packaging, and an organized distribution system. Beneficiaries were selected based on verified need, ensuring that aid reached the most deserving families.
This initiative significantly reduced food insecurity, eased financial burdens, and enabled families to observe Ramadan with dignity by preparing Suhoor and Iftar meals. In addition to immediate relief, the project strengthened community trust and highlighted the importance of expanding sustainable programs such as livelihood support and skills development to ensure long-term impact.
Alhamdulillah, the project was completed successfully within the planned timeframe, ensuring transparency, accountability, and dignity throughout the process.
