On 3 November 2025, a 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck northern Afghanistan,
devastating several provinces including Samangan, Balkh, and Badakhshan. The epicenter was near Tashqurghan District in Samangan Province, where hundreds of homes collapsed, lives were lost, and families were left without shelter as winter approaches.

The Mezan Charity Foundation (MCF) team immediately mobilized and traveled to Tashqurghan to assess the situation. Our field team found that more than 100 families have been severely affected many of them lost their homes, livestock, and all their possessions. Most families are now living in temporary shelters such as schools, struggling to find warmth, food, and clean water.

The situation is critical. With temperatures dropping rapidly, families, children, and the elderly are facing extreme hardship and urgent humanitarian needs. Without immediate support, the risk of hunger, illness, and exposure to cold will increase sharply.

MCF is launching an emergency appeal to provide:
- Emergency shelter and winter materials (tents, blankets, warm clothing)
- Food and clean drinking water
- Cash support for rebuilding damaged homes and restoring livelihoods
Your donation (no matter how small) can make a difference. Together, we can help earthquake-affected families survive this difficult time and rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
