The Mizan Charity Foundation (MCF) successfully implemented a Dairy Goat Distribution Project aimed at supporting vulnerable and low-income families through sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Under this initiative, dairy goats along with their kids were distributed to deserving households in different provinces. The project was designed to help beneficiaries generate a regular source of income, improve food security, and strengthen long-term economic resilience.
Project Impact
Following the distribution, MCF conducted post-distribution monitoring visits to assess the health of the goats, milk production, and the overall impact on beneficiaries’ lives. The findings showed encouraging results:
- Beneficiaries are producing milk daily and selling it within their communities
- Weekly household income has increased significantly
- Families are better able to cover basic needs such as food, healthcare, and education
- Goats and their offspring serve as long-term productive assets for future breeding
Many beneficiaries, especially widows and female-headed households, reported reduced financial stress and improved dignity and self-reliance.
Sustainable Assistance
This project demonstrates how livestock-based assistance can create lasting change. By providing income-generating assets rather than short-term aid, the Dairy Goat Distribution Project contributes to sustainable development and long-term livelihood improvement.
